El Gouna

El Gouna is a purpose-built resort town on Egypt's Red Sea coast with reliable thermal wind from spring through autumn and steadier trade winds in winter. The kite spots are sheltered shallow lagoons - knee-deep flat water that's ideal for learning and freestyle. The downside is the wind is generally softer than Tarifa or Cape Town; the upside is it's incredibly consistent and the water is 23-28°C all year. Direct flights from most of Europe in 4-5 hours.
